About Us

Welcome you all to the website of Little Friends. With earnest and unending desire to do something for the society, the Founder Principal Mrs Arati Deb established  her beloved nursery school in the year 1987to cater to the needs of the kiddies.

Thirty-two years ago, our beloved Mother, whose innovative ideas, sowed the seed and relentless efforts nurtured the young sapling, which has now taken shape of today’s Little Friends.Right from its inception shefelt that children must enjoy the essence of learning and feel the fun in learning .With only 14 students and 2 teachers, the school was set up in a unique manner. Its monogram, diary was designed by a senior, experienced Montessori trained teacher Mrs.Anjali Bardhan. In the days to follow, our beloved Mother’s unyielding effort to do something fruitful for the kiddies transformed   Little Friends in such a way that it bloomed in a fashion, multifarious in its kind, a class of its own.

In the year 1987 Little Friends started with two classes Lower Nursery and Higher Nursery. Later on Classes K.G. I and II followed. The ground-breaking ideas of Mother made her think of the masses and she started Bengali medium along with English medium. Little Friends manifested itself into a new arena by helping the budding flowers take a big leap. The first batch faced the challenge of appearing for thescholarship exam when they were in class IV. With the unfaltering efforts of Mother, the teaching Staff, the students achieved good results.Computer classes were introduced since 1999 to make the kiddies be accustomed to the computer environment. Little Friends started its new wing, the afternoon session since 1995.Little Friends projected a qualitative growth churning out students fortified with qualities of moral values. The various co-curricular activities, sports, drawing classes, P.T. classes made the students idyllic to confront the challenging world in their days to come. In this journey of Little Friends the only support of Mother was the persistent efforts of the teachers who nurtured the students with profound love and care.

In the days to come our octogenarian Mother’s only wish was that ‘The show must go on’. Though she remained arrested in bed she took every care to improvise the handwriting of the young ones. She never refrained from conferring awards to the deserved ones. She took every care to choose the books, select the prizes in order to widen the knowledge of the young minds. Realising that she had to be ready for her exit from this beautiful world she bequeathed her dear school to Mr.PijushRaiChaudhuri who accepted to follow her ideals and lead the school and give it a new silhouette.
